2025 was a difficult year for my wife Karen, who suffers from scoliosis, which is an unnatural curving of the spine, stenosis, which is a narrowing of the spinal canal and causes nerve impingement, and spondylolisthesis, which is like a game of Jenga with the spine. Naturally as believers we prayed for healing, having some success with her most painful symptoms, but failing to lay hold of complete healing. Season 4 begins with our conversation the night before Karen’s complex spine surgery. It’s deeply personal for us, shared in hope of glorifying God who heals, even through surgery, and of encouraging those in the Lord who themselves struggle with their faith when divine healing seems elusive.
